About our children's diabetes service

Our children and young people’s diabetes service offers medical, nursing, dietetic and psychological support to children, young people and their families with diabetes.

Our service covers Northwick Park Hospital, Ealing Hospital, and Central Middlesex Hospital.

We care for children and young people with diabetes who are up to 19 years old. Our aim is to provide support, education and guidance so that children, young people and their families are confident in caring and managing their diabetes.

We offer support for children and young people with:

  • Type 1 diabetes
  • Type 2 diabetes
  • maturity onset diabetes in the young

We also help young people as they move to adult care services.

As well as offering clinical care, our team provide training for nursery and school staff (as well as other carers), helping them to manage and support children with diabetes at nursery and school.
