Chief executive Pippa moves on to new challenges

Chief Executive Pippa Nightingale will leave London North West University Healthcare after four years to take up a new role as Chief Executive of Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust later this summer.

Pippa said: “We've had an incredible year which includes being ranked the most improved trust in London and the seventh most improved across the country. Our teams' determination to improve services, despite ongoing operational and financial pressure, has been remarkable.

“We've seen real progress in patient safety and outcomes, big improvements in our waiting lists so we see more patients sooner, and greater financial stability, leading to greater confidence in LNWH from our partners and better investment in our services.

“It's been a great privilege to work alongside such fantastic teams, but like all of us, it's sometimes important to try different challenges, and this is the right time for me to start a new stage in my career.”

A recruitment process for a new Chief Executive at LNWH will start shortly. It will follow the governance for the North West London Acute Provider Group, under which each trust continues to have its own dedicated CEO reporting to Group Chief Executive Professor Tim Orchard.

David Moss, vice chair of LNWH, said: “Pippa has been a great CEO who has both delivered outstanding results during her tenure as well as being a real pleasure to work with. “We wish her every success in her new role, which she so richly deserves.”

Professor Tim Orchard, Group Chief Executive for the North West London Acute Provider Group, said: “On behalf of the Group, I want to thank Pippa for the major contribution she has made to LNWH, driving clear improvements in quality, performance and financial stability. She has also been a strong and influential leader across the wider north west London health system. I have greatly valued working with her and wish her every success in her next role.”
