Kat's Anatomy of Fear
A Hollywood illustrator bought his lifelong struggle with Crohn's Disease to the big screen with the help of St Mark's Hospital.
Ronen Eytan enlisted the help of fellow filmmakers to work voluntarily on the project which follows a fictional character's journey from diagnosis and treatment to coming to terms with the condition.
Ronen hopes the film can be used as a worldwide educational tool providing information and reassurance to newly diagnosed patients.
“I have generally received excellent care and support for Crohn's but there wasn't much support after my initial diagnosis which is when people need reassurance and support.
“It's a scary time and the film is there to provide reassurance and show people they aren't alone.”
Kat's Anatomy of Fear moves between real life action and animation as the story takes the viewer inside the body to see the impact Chron's has on the intestine.
St Mark's staff were recently invited to the first screening of the film.
