Surgical teams get to grips with robots
Surgeons and theatre teams at Ealing and Northwick Park hospitals got to grips with robot technology in advance of the first surgical procedures taking place this week.
It follows the delivery of two state-of-the-art Da Vinci robots which offer advanced, minimally invasive surgery for thousands of patients.
A third robotic platform is already in use at Central Middlesex Hospital supporting specialist colorectal procedures.
It marks a major milestone in transforming surgical care, improving patient outcomes, and putting the trust at the forefront of NHS innovation with the robots expected to perform 700 procedures a year be the end of 2027.
Our robots are still looking for names so please send your suggestions to lnwh-tr.communications@nhs.net and write 'robot naming competition' in the headline along with a name for each robot and the relevant hospital.
