About getting your blood test at Ealing Hospital
If you have a referral form from your GP, community clinic or from one of our outpatient clinics, you can get your blood tested in our phlebotomy department.
Please bring your blood test request form to the phlebotomy department in the outpatients clinic 1 on level 2.

- For age 2-15 year olds who do not meet the criteria for the Paediatric day unit
We will see you in the phlebotomy unit, outpatients 1, level 2 at Ealing Hospital.

Call our Paediatric day unit
- For age 2 years and under
- For age 2-15 year olds who meet the criteria for the Paediatric day unit
We will see you in the Paediatric day unit, on level 2 at Ealing Hospital.
Paediatric day unit blood test criteria
- They have learning disabilities, autism or Down's syndrome.
- They have a needle phobia, and you have already tried other centres.
- Previous blood test attempts have been unsuccessful.
- They have a medical condition like, cerebral palsy, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, thalassaemia or sickle cell disease.
- They receive shared care with another hospital Trust.
Your GP will need to request the blood tests on the ICE system first. GPs, parents or carers can then book an appointment at the Paediatric day unit.

Special test appointment
Blood test appointments for specialist tests such as Glucose Tolerance Test (GTT) must be booked between 8am and 9am using our online booking system, or call 020 8235 4200 if you can't book online.
