About our hospital services for children
Our paediatric team treat a range of conditions, as well as providing more general care for children. These conditions include:
- Allergies
- Diabetes
- Cardiology
- Endocrinology
- Enuerisis
- Epilepsy
- Gastroenterology
- Hematology
- Infectious Diseases
- Oncology
- Phlebotomy Services (for children up to the age of 10)
- Nephrology
- Neurology
- Respiratory
- Rheumatology
Paediatric High Dependency Unit (HDU)
Our HDU unit is based on Jack's Place children's ward at Northwick Park Hospital.
We accept referrals for children who are:
- are on long-term non-invasive ventilation
- have tracheostomies (with or without ventilation)
- are local to Northwick Park Hospital
We care for children who have received paediatric intensive care and/or respiratory care at:
- Great Ormond Street Hospital
- Royal Brompton Hospital
Children's services referrals
GPs and other hospitals can refer children and young people between the ages of 0 and 16 to our acute services and up to the age of 19 for our community services.
GPs can also refer children who are 10 years old or younger for routine and urgent blood tests.
