Patient transport to the elective orthopaedic centre
Free patient transport is available if your journey is:

- expensive
- difficult or complex, involving many changes on public transport
- at a time causes problems or difficulties.

- need medical support during your journey.

You’ll either ride in a car ambulance or a non-emergency ambulance. Our transport team are professional drivers with the right experience to get you to Central Middlesex Hospital and home again safely.
When they do drop you off home, they’ll make sure you’re settled in before leaving.
And because our patient transport isn’t shared with other services, your journey won’t be affected by busy periods in our other hospitals.

Elective orthopaedic centre drop-off point
Elective orthopaedic centre drop-off point is between BeCAD and ACAD:
- follow the signs to the surface level car park
- take the road through the carpark until you come to a junction
- turn left
- follow the road around the hospital building
- take the first left
- the drop-off point is straight ahead.
There’s a lift from the orthopaedic centre drop-off point that will take you up to the unit to check in.
Getting to theatre admissions
On the day of your surgery, check in at theatre admissions, ACAD.
There are lifts to theatre admissions from:
- the orthopaedic centre drop-off point
- inside ACAD.
From the drop-off point
There’s a lift from the orthopaedic centre drop-off point that will take you up to the unit to check in.
From main entrance
- follow the signs to ACAD
- turn right at the ACAD reception
- take the lift in ACAD zone three to the first floor.
