Heartfelt award for examiner
Dr Abdul-Majeed Salmasi showed his heart was in the right place by helping organise crucial medical exams for aspiring consultants, despite the restrictions of the pandemic.
The Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK (MRCPUK) presented the cardiologist with an international award for organising and hosting the Practical Assessment of Clinical Skills Exam (PACE) at Central Middlesex Hospital.
The pandemic put a stop to exams for several months and Central Middlesex was the first hospital in the UK to reinstate the three-hour exam which sees doctors’ clinical performance, skills and knowledge tested by senior colleagues via five ‘’stations’ where they presented with different challenges.
MRCPUK said Dr Salmasi had ‘undeniably gone above and beyond and beyond again.’
