Hospital staff celebrate festival in style
We all like a dance but there has always got to be one, hasn’t there?
Rajni Puthuppallymattathil, who works as an intensive nurse at Ealing Hospital, was among a group of staff who took part in the Onam Festival in Sudbury.
They performed a dance called Thiruvathira and spent several months beforehand practising under the watchful eye of fellow nurse Gifty Anoop in the hospital car park.
Rajni showed she knows more than one way to use a needle by making the extraordinary costume herself.
Onam is an Indian festival celebrated around the globe by the Malayali who come from southern Indian state of Kerela.
Saturday Night Fever? It’s so passé.
