Matron picks up second award

Former matron and sprint queen Rose Amankwaah showed she is still a winner after picking up her second award of the year at the annual NHS Parliamentary Awards.

The fastest nurse on two legs won a Lifetime Achievement Award after clocking up nearly 50 years’ service at Central Middlesex Hospital.

She was presented with her award by NHS England Chief Executive Amanda Pritchard.

Rose was nominated by her local MP in recognition of her work.
