Now that’s a stocking filler!
Ementa Ngo got an early Christmas present when she won £10,000 for coming to the aid of a colleague injured at Central Middlesex Hospital.
The general assistant supervisor thought she was attending a routine meeting when bosses from Compass Group UK and Ireland surprised her with the company’s annual Be a Star ‘Legend’ Award.
Ementa was first on the scene when a contractor attacked and injured several people earlier this year. She stayed with an injured hospital worker helping control bleeding and offering reassurance until medical staff arrived.
The attack, which was widely reported in the national media, saw emergency services race to the scene where the suspect was arrested.
Ementa saw off competition from more than 2,000 entries and said she was ‘over the moon’ about the win.
