Poems for the Waiting Room
Central Middlesex Hospital has hosting the launch of the latest collection of ‘Poems for the Waiting Room’ giving patients and visitors the chance to enjoy a variety of bi-lingual poems reflecting the different communities that live in the area.
A selection from 45 poems in languages ranging from Arabic and Farsi to Vietnamese and Mandarin are now on display alongside their English translations.
The initiative has been endorsed by Poet Laureate Andrew Motion who described poetry as ‘a wonderful way of putting yourself in other people’s shoes.’
The poems include The Peacock of Walpole Park, Too Long I’ve Wandered and Morning.
