Young people wanted for covid trial

Young people are being encouraged to take part in the latest Covid-19 trial being held at Northwick Park.

Studies have shown young adults have a stronger immune response to vaccines than older adults and the trial will look at the effectiveness of giving them a lower booster dose of Pfizer or Moderna.

Northwick Park is one of four hospital trusts taking part in COV-BOOST.

The benefits of a lower dose include allowing existing stocks to given more people around the world.

Participants must be aged 18-30, have had two doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines with at least three months since their second dose, or not received a booster.

People who have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past, and have had their second vaccine, can also take part in the study.

Anyone interested in finding out more or taking part in the study can visit the COV-BOOST website, where they can complete the study questionnaire to see if they are eligible.

Participants will be reimbursed up to £225 for their time, inconvenience and travel, with boosters given in January and February.
